POSTERS AND OPEN EDITIONS of Behrens' editions are NOT featured on this website.  Contact your local framer or poster distributor for these products.  Prices generally range from $15 to $50 unframed.
 
LIMITED EDITIONS:
  • Serigraphs on paper and canvas - generally produced in the 70's through the 90's.  No longer available except on the secondary market.
  • Canvas Lithographs/Canvas Transfers - this lower-end technology was used from 1998 to 2003 to produce high-quality, affordable Behrens' limited editions on canvas.  All such products have, however, been discontinued and are only available on the secondary market. Most of these earlier works were embellished/enhanced by the publisher's studio artists - not Behrens.
  • Giclees on Paper - Giclees on paper were produced in very limited quantities until 2004.  These products have been discontinued and are only available on the secondary market.
  • Serio-lithographs:  This entry-level collector product was introduced in 2007.  This is a mixed-media product on paper - consisting of a lithograph on paper over which a serigraph (silkscreen) layer is applied to achieve a textured look.  Each print is personally signed and numbered by Behrens.
  • Giclees on Canvas - All of Behrens' limited editions on canvas are now produced using this state-of-the-art, hi-quality, hi-resolution process.  Each limited-edition work is currently personally embellished/enhanced by Behrens' with a palette knife, and signed and numbered by him.  Prices range between $1,800 and $6,000 (for SOLD OUT or RARE editions).

 

ORIGINAL WORKS ON CANVAS:

  • NEW!  MIXED MEDIA WORKS ON CANVAS -               "THE FIVE CARAT DIAMOND COLLECTION"    
 This new product was introduced in August 2010.  The series is based on Behrens "GREATEST HITS" and is produced using a proprietary process (trademark pending) that captures the heavy impasto look and feel of the original oil on which it is based.  Behrens then covers each piece (corner to corner) with paints and glazes.  FIVE CARATS of real, crushed diamonds are mixed into the final glaze and added by Behrens to specific areas that he wants to highlight.  Each piece is unique since the substrate image is overpainted and glazed extensively.  Since each piece is a unique work of art - there are no edition numbers on the front of the canvas.     Retail (gallery) prices range between $4,200 for the small size and $7,000 for the large size.  COMING SOON:  oversize works in the collection to be priced around $10,000.

  • Original Oils on canvas - This is the highest "form" of Behrens' art.  Each piece is a unique, one-of-a-kind original oil on canvas.  Princes range from $5,000 to $80,000, depending on size and level of difficulty.
  • Special-commission original oils on canvas - Special order commissions are available in custom compositions, colors, and sizes for about 20 percent more than a comparably-sized oil on canvas.  Normally, any organic-themed work can be done fairly small, but one with buildings and other architectural elements must be done in larger sizes.
